Felony Vandalism: Man Arrested After Ramming Truck into Ramona Sheriff’s Substation

A 21-year-old motorist, Jorge Aguilar, has been apprehended on suspicion of felony vandalism for ramming his pickup truck into a gate at a sheriff’s substation in Ramona, authorities reported today.

Understanding the Incident

The incident unfolded when Aguilar, part of a group of six individuals, was initially detained for alleged illegal possession of concealed firearms and narcotics at an intersection in Ramona. 

Released with a notice to appear in court, Aguilar’s actions took a drastic turn when he purportedly returned to the Ramona sheriff’s substation around 7:30 a.m., deliberately crashing his truck into the back gate before swiftly fleeing the scene.

Aguilar’s felony vandalism left the sheriff’s substation in chaos and endangered law enforcement and the neighborhood.

Swift Apprehension and Additional Charges

Following the incident, Aguilar was swiftly identified as the perpetrator by eyewitnesses, leading deputies to his damaged truck parked at his residence in Ramona. Without incident, Aguilar was taken into custody and is set to face an additional felony vandalism charge, reflecting the severity of the damage inflicted upon the gate.

This bold act of vandalism underscores the importance of swift and decisive law enforcement action in safeguarding public property and maintaining community safety.
