Travelers who use Interstate 5 near Vader in Lewis County should plan ahead for delays, according to a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
Beginning Monday, March 11, bridge maintenance crews working for WSDOT will temporarily close a single lane along both spans of the I-5 Cowlitz River bridges.
“These closures are necessary for the cleaning of the steel bridge structures and to perform routine annual bridge maintenance work,” WSDOT stated in the release.
On Monday, March 11 crews will close a single lane of the northbound I-5 Cowlitz River bridge at milepost 59.06 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, March 12, to the morning of Wednesday, March 13, crews will close a single lane of the southbound I-5 Cowlitz River Bridge at milepost 59.06 overnight from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
“Travelers are reminded to slow down as they approach the work zone, follow directional signs, have patience and expect delays,” WSDOT stated.
