Ohio, get ready for a little bit of everything this week! From gusty winds and chilly rain to a sneak peek at spring temperatures, Mother Nature is giving us a full weather rollercoaster. Whether you’re bracing for strong winds or planning to enjoy the brief warm-up, here’s what you need to know to stay ahead of the forecast.
Sunday-Monday: Windy and Rainy, Then a Cool Down
The week kicks off with some strong winds and scattered showers. A Wind Advisory is in effect for much of central and northern Ohio through Sunday morning, so if you’re in Columbus, Cleveland, or surrounding areas, expect gusts up to 40 mph. If you’ve got loose patio furniture, trash cans, or decorations outside, you might want to bring them in before they take off!
Sunday’s temps will be mild, reaching the upper 50s to mid-60s, but by the evening, colder air moves in, and we’ll drop into the 30s overnight. Monday will be noticeably cooler—highs in the low 50s for Columbus and barely scraping the 40s in Cleveland—but at least the sun will make a comeback.
Tuesday-Wednesday: Spring Sneak Peek—Warm & Breezy!
After the chilly start to the week, things take a pleasant turn! A big warm-up is on tap for Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs climbing into the 60s and even low 70s in some spots.
- Columbus could hit 71°F, while Cleveland will enjoy upper 60s.
- Expect partly sunny skies and a steady breeze, but overall, it’ll feel amazing compared to Monday.
- If you’ve been waiting to take a long walk, fire up the grill, or enjoy some fresh air, Tuesday and Wednesday are your days!
Thursday: Back to Reality—Rain and a Temperature Drop
Enjoy the warm-up while you can because a cold front moves in Thursday, bringing clouds, showers, and a drop in temps. The day will start mild, with highs in the 50s, but by evening, we’ll be back in the upper 30s. If you’re out and about, bring an umbrella—you’ll probably need it.
Friday-Saturday: A Mixed Bag Leading Into the Weekend
Friday is looking partly sunny and cooler, with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s—not bad, but definitely chillier than earlier in the week. Then on Saturday, rain returns, making for a cloudy, damp start to the weekend. Columbus could see highs around 56°F, while Cleveland will hover near 52°F.
How to Prepare for This Week’s Weather
Secure loose items by Sunday – Those wind gusts could send them flying! Layer up on Monday – It’ll feel much colder after Sunday’s warmth. Soak up the sun Tuesday & Wednesday – It’s the warmest stretch of the week, so enjoy it! Keep an umbrella handy for Thursday & Saturday – Rain is coming, so don’t get caught off guard.
