The Mossyrock softball team came away with two blowout wins on Monday, as the Vikings topped Toutle Lake 20-4 and 15-0.
In Game 1, Toutle Lake took a 3-0 lead in the first, but Mossyrock (4-1) responded immediately with five in the top of the second, and the Vikings added four more in the third.
After plating one in the fourth, they piled on in the fifth, scoring 10 to push their lead to 16.
Erin Cournyer allowed four hits and four runs (two earned) while walking two and striking out four in five innings in the circle, and she also went 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and two runs batted in.
Hadleigh Gerard hit a triple and drove in five runs, Chesney Schultz went 2 for 5 with a double and three RBIs, and Taylor Schwartz went 3 for 4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs.
In Game 2, Maci Rashoff pitched three no-hit innings in a 15-0 win. The Vikings needed just two innings to get to 15, scoring nine in the first and six in the second. They only needed five hits to do so, taking advantage of seven Toutle Lake errors.
Mossyrock coach Keith Coleman was pleased with the two performances, noting how he was happy with how well they were hitting the ball throughout the day.
“That’s a good thing,” Coleman said with a laugh.
The Vikings will be back in action on Thursday at Napavine.
