The City of McCall is saying goodbye to one of its employees.
City Manager Anette Spickard is moving to Sedona, Arizona.
Spickard has worked for McCall since 2018. A new release from the city about her departure said that Spickard’s decision comes down to “career growth” and being able to live closer to her daughters and grandchildren.
Her role in McCall included supervising daily city operations and working as an advisor to the city council. McCall has a weak mayor/city manager form of government. Unlike cities like Meridian or Boise, the mayor is a member of the council and ceremonial leader, while the city manager is a non-elected staff member who runs the city’s day-to-day operations.
“We thank Anette for her contributions and wish her a successful career transition,” McCall Mayor Bob Giles said. “She will be greatly missed by all who have had the privilege of working with her.”
Before McCall, Spickard worked for Springfield, Oregon as the public works director and deputy director — for a total of almost five years.
The Sedona Red Rocks News reports that Spickard will start in her new role as city manager on April 8. The article says that her base salary is $190,000.
Spickard’s final day working for McCall is March 22.
The city is looking to hire a new city manager. The application deadline for the role is April 12. McCall’s entire job search schedule and position information are available on its website.
