Louisville’s Weather Is About to Get Crazy – Don’t Step Outside Without Reading This!

LOUISVILLE, KY – If you’ve been enjoying the recent calm weather, don’t get too used to it—because the rain is rolling in, and it’s not leaving anytime soon. Starting Monday, Louisville is in for a few days of showers, gusty winds, and a rollercoaster of temperatures. Some spots could even see thunderstorms by midweek, so it’s time to break out the rain gear and prepare for some soggy commutes.

Monday, March 3 – Cloudy, Then the Rain Moves In

Monday starts off mild, with a high of 54°F (12°C) and mostly cloudy skies. It’ll feel pretty uneventful—just another typical March day—but don’t let that fool you. By the evening, rain will start creeping in, and it’s here to stay for a while. Temps drop to 42°F (5°C) overnight, with light showers lingering into Tuesday morning.

Tuesday, March 4 – Stormy & Windy

Things take a turn on Tuesday. Showers will be around throughout the day, and by the afternoon, we could even get a few thunderstorms in the mix. Winds will pick up, and the temperature jumps up to 63°F (17°C)—so it might feel a little like spring, but it won’t last long. By nighttime, we’re back down to 49°F (9°C) as the rain keeps coming.

Wednesday, March 5 – Wet, Windy, and Chilly

If you thought Tuesday was messy, Wednesday keeps the theme going. Expect scattered showers all day, plus gusty winds that’ll make it feel even cooler. The high will be around 60°F (16°C), but by nighttime, the temp drops fast—all the way down to 34°F (1°C). If you were hoping for a break from the rain, don’t hold your breath just yet.

Thursday, March 6 – Chilly and Breezy

Finally, we dry out a little on Thursday, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be warm. Highs only reach 46°F (8°C), and with the wind, it’ll feel even cooler. By the time the sun goes down, we’re looking at near-freezing temps of 32°F (0°C). If you packed away your winter coat, you might want to grab it again.

What You Need to Know:

Umbrellas & Rain Boots Are a Must – We’ve got three straight days of rain, so plan on getting wet if you’re out and about.

Hold Onto Your Hats (Literally!) – Winds will be picking up midweek, so anything outside—like trash cans or patio furniture—could get tossed around.

Wet Roads Mean Slower Drives – Give yourself extra time, especially during the morning and evening commutes. Standing water and gusty winds could make things tricky.

Don’t Trust the Temperature Swings – We go from spring-like warmth on Tuesday to near-freezing cold by Thursday night. Layer up and be ready for anything!

This is classic March weather—one day it’s warm, the next, you’re shivering in the wind. So, keep the rain gear handy, stay safe on the roads, and brace yourself for a week of up-and-down temperatures. Welcome to early spring in Kentucky!
