If Safford was riding high off their 25-0 takedown of San Miguel on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Safford Bulldogs took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Snowflake Lobos on Wednesday. Safford has struggled against Snowflake recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
For Snowflake’s part, Graycee Skousen was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Livi Schneider, who went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
Safford’s loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Snowflake, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Safford will take on Tanque Verde at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Snowflake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Payson at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Snowflake will stroll in with a seven game home winning streak (dating back to last season), but they should still watch out: the last time they lost at home was their the 23rd matchup with Payson.
