What Is the Program?
The Family First Economic Support Pilot (FFESP) program is designed to support low-income families with young children who have faced economic hardship. The program offers monthly payments of $725 to eligible households, running from December 2024 through November 2025.
Who Qualifies?
To qualify, applicants must meet these criteria:
- Residency: You must live in one of these Sacramento County ZIP codes: 95815, 95821, 95823, 95825, 95828, or 95838.
- Income Level: Your household income must be below 200% of the federal poverty level. For a family of four, this means earning less than $60,000 annually.
- Family Requirements: At least one child aged five or younger must live in your household at least half the time. The child must be Black, American Indian, or Alaska Native.
When Will You Get Paid?
The first $725 payment was issued on December 15, 2024. Payments will continue monthly on the 15th until November 2025. All payments are made through direct deposit to the recipients’ bank accounts.
How to Apply
Applications were open between September 30 and October 13, 2024. Participants had to submit proof of residency, income, and children’s birth certificates. Selected families were notified before the first payments were made.
What’s the Impact?
With approximately 200 families benefiting, the FFESP program aims to address financial disparities in underserved communities, focusing on the well-being of young children. By providing $8,700 per family over 12 months, the program brings financial stability to those who need it most.
